Design Pataki Podcast- Conversation with Dr. Miniya Chatterji

(Podcast produced by Studio41 in association with Design Pataki)

Dr. Miniya Chatterji is a scholar of sustainability and has been its active torchbearer. She is the founder and CEO of Sustain Labs Paris, a sustainability incubator that transforms large organisations into becoming social entrepreneurs.
Up until 2017, she was the Chief Sustainability Officer at Jindal Steel and Power, one of India’s leading business conglomerates, making her one of the youngest top businesswomen in India at the time.

This episode features-

  1. What are some of the common misconceptions around sustainability?

  2. How can one distinguish between the myriad of terms like ‘green’, ‘fair trade’, ‘ethically sourced’, ‘LEED-certified’, etc which are often used interchangeably by brands?

  3. What are the common challenges faced by smaller firms looking to go sustainable?

From Studio41 viewpoint

I think I mentioned it a while back that producing this series for Design Pataki has been an education. An education not only in art and design, but also in podcasting.

I have done interview shows before but none like this. The previous shows were more on the 'tell us your story' format. Over here though, each week we get a new guest who is a subject matter expert and sitting across from them is the host, Esha Gupta, who also knows her way in the field. So what results is a conversation with ebbs and flows and the challenge for us as a producer is to present the best possible version of the conversation. Hope we achieved that!
